P I L G R I M   M O N U M E N T

Provincetown, Massachusetts

Okay, time to climb to the top. Despite my sore foot, I proceed to mindlessly run up the stairs, it's a good thing the step faces are painted yellow to keep me from tripping. In short order I reach the top and am duly congratulated by Pilgrim Museum and Provincetown Museum. How nice of them to say so.

You can only climb to the very top of the monument if you have a key to the access door that's located near the overhead ladder. Since no key was given to me when I was given my admission ticket, I assume it's off limits. Bummer! I wonder, is Batman up there?

I try, in vain, to get a clear picture of one of the overhead gargoyles but to no avail. Wish I had more control over my camera's focus. However, I do manage to get a nice, professionally focused shot of the iron grating. Pretty sweet, eh?

As a consolation prize, I manage to squeeze off this shot of the upper section by poking my camera lens through the grating with an outstretched arm. I tell ya, it's good to be tall.
