Northwestern Montana

The ride starts out on the level. Since I was forewarned there's little to no shoulder all the way up to Logan Pass, I say a little prayer asking for my safety as I make my way down the road.

The winding, crystal clear, and ice cold McDonald Creek flows to my left.

I'm surrounded by tall, majestic mountains while still traveling on relativlely flat roadway. This is a good warm-up for what's in store for me on the road up ahead.

A tunnel soon finds its way into view and offers a hidden treasure missed by most folks, all couped up and partially blinded in their cars and SUVs. The acoustics in the tunnel are on the otherside of spectacular. Once mid-way in the tunnel, I dismount my bike then begin shouting and stomping my feet. The reverberation of sound is amazing, it bounces around for a good 4-5 seconds. I have never experienced tunnel echoing to this degree. Needless to say, I spend about 10 minutes entertaining myself with my new-found tunnel toy.
