San Antonio, Texas

On my way out I toss a few bucks into the donation hopper. Apparently the Alamo is funded entirely through private donations.

One last look at the Long Barrack.

On my way out of the Convento Courtyard I pass by this skimpy tribute to Adina Amelia DeZavala and Clara Driscoll, the two loyal members of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas who were instrumental in preserving the Alamo Complex. Since they were so important, why the whimpy remembrance?

Exiting the Converto Courtyard, I pass by the front of the Shrine on my way to the Alamo Gardens.

Passing through the archways, I look to my immediate right and see this long stone arch corridor. The corridor was build in the 1920s.

The first thing I see in the Alamo Gardens is a large oak tree next to a fountain.
