Vancouver, British Columbia

Beside the path runs English Bay Beach, just a stone's throw from downtown Vancouver.

I make my way around Stanley Island. This is a great park just minutes by bike from city center.

Connecting West Vancouver to Vancouver, the lofty Lions Gate Bridge elegantly spans the First Narrows waterway.

Here are some folks I meet on the way back out of Stanley Park. Seems the pooch is really enjoying the bike ride. The owners tell me the dog bikes with them all the time. Reminds me of when I was a kid and I let our family poddle Fifi ride on my bike's handlebars.

At this point my bike trip winds down, I stop for a bit at English Bay Beach to check out the night life before heading back to the van.

In summary, my bike ride of the waterfront is a wonderful experience. The bike path the city provides along the waterfront is both spacious and well maintained. All folks using the path (walking, running, rollerblading, biking) are all courteous.

Out of a maximum rating of 5 thumbs-up, my tour of Vancouver's waterfront easily receives 4.5 thumbs.
