On the way I pass by this little waterfall. This is a drive-by photo shoot, that's why you can't see it very well. There's so much to see in Yellowstone and so little time to see it. In my travels I sometimes resort to taking pictures on the move. Yeah, I'm the guy you see weaving around on the road with a camera (and hand) hanging out the window. The art of drive-by photography probably mirrors many of my fellow driver's photo experiences since they are in the same boat as I.

After a little more uphill climbing, things quickly level out and my view of the landscape, in all directions, expands far into the distance. It is along this stretch of level road I find signs advertising the area as prime real-estate for animal viewing, predominately moose and elk.

Off in the distance, from left to right, I could see Mt Holmes, Three Rivers Peak, and Bannock Peak. The tallest mountain, Mt Holmes, stands 10,270 feet above sea level and towers 3,000 feet above ground. I am 10 miles from its peak.

I pass Bunsen Peak, a future hiking destination.
