After a short subway ride, I finally arrive at the cemetery. Time, however, is definitely not on my side. I only have 1/2 an hour to tour the place.

Arlington National Cemetery is one of the most visited tourist sights in the Washington, D.C. area, hosting an upwards of 4 million visitors every year who come to pay their respects to America's many fallen military men and women. Home of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Kennedy grave site, Arlington is the final resting place for veterans and exceptional individuals spanning from the Revolutionary War to the present-day military conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Click here for more detail and pictures of my tour of Arlington National Cemetery.

I decide to conclude my touring for the day after finishing my tour of Arlington. I descend into one of the many throats of the subway system and, in short order, I find myself back in College Park, MD where I've parked the van. I drive back to Laurel, MD, park in the Walmart parking lot, then chill out for the evening. After fixing dinner and doing a little travel writing, I retire for the evening.
