Yellowstone National Park Northwestern Wyoming
Finally, we make it to the top, here's one of the nice vistas.
Here's another.
At the top the park has erected some sort of communications station.
Also at the top is this rusted metal box. Brian and I didn't notice it right away. After snapping photos and enjoying the view, I look down and see the box. I immediately wonder what is inside, it doesn't appear to be locked.
When I open it I'm pleasantly surprised by what's inside. It's a "time-capsule" of sorts, filled to the gills with small notes of poetry and personal quotes as well as mementos, all placed in the box by past hikers. I sift down to the bottom of the pile and find notes dated as early as 2001. Most notes are written on paper but a few authors are creative, having no paper to write on, inscribing their words on pieces of wood.
