Adirondack State Park
Upstate New York

Hey, there's Mount Marcy. Soon I'll be standing on her head. She's partially bald ya know, there are no trees up there.

1.2 miles to go, it's time for another time check. Since my last time check I've hiked for 35 minutes and covered 1.7 miles. Wow, that's a blistering pace, due in part to some of the flat sections I've passed through. So I've averaged 3.2 mph. Not bad! I've really turned up the burners and it's paid off in spades but there is a price to pay, I'm growing tired.

Water check time. It's running rather low, hovering at the 300 ml mark. I have about 300 more ml in my pack as well but that isn't much.

If you don't have the right gear you might as well go home.

After more uphill a vista and meadow reveal itself.
