M O U N T M A R C Y
Adirondack State Park Upstate New York
Here's a close-up of Mount Marcy, all fat and balding. But she's still a pretty sight to me.
The terrain turns completely into slick-rock.
0.6 miles to go and it's time for yet another time check. In 20 minutes I've covered 0.6 miles. That boils down to 1.8 mph which is a pretty good pace considering I climbing the steepest part of the mountain.
Time for another water check, I'm now at 200 ml.
With each slick-rock surmount the view gets better and better.
I'm feeling really whipped now but I keep up the pace. Now in full view, the mountain top is vigorously poking and prodding me onward and upward.
