The available vistas are nice but still somewhat foggy.

Now you see him, now you don't. Ha! Maybe all along Bill has just been a figment of my imagination?

So, where did Bill go? Maybe he really is a hallucination.

Oh, there he is. Now that's strange, he's leaning over, I wonder what's up? Come to find out, Bill needs a helping hand. A little while back the poor guy broke his right arm on a bike fall and is still in recovery. He cannot use his injured wing to right himself. No worries Bill, I'm more than happy to help a friend, and in short order he's back upright and on his way.

Eventually we reach the intersection where Middle Sister Trail meets up with Carter Ledge Trail. We take Carter Ledge Trail which immediately plunges us into forest.

After a bit more hiking, and, at one point, some backtracking because we lost track of the trail, we make the acquaintance of Carter Ledge.
