Central Kentucky

Hmmm, we're now somewhere on Kentucky Avenue, but I'm unsure exactly where. The tour guide is so far up ahead, I cannot hear anything he's saying. That's the price Ernesta and I pay for lagging back and taking a lot of shots. Well, I guess for me, the photos are more important than the facts. So, we have just entered Paris and in the distance I can see the Eiffel Tower.

That's interesting, there's a cable running across the cave's ceiling.

This has got to be the Grand Canyon landmark, it's friggin' enormous! For as big as this chamber is, it's hard to believe we're really in a cave. A cave? The word cave is an interesting one. Have you ever really thought about it?

According to dictionary.com, as a noun it means "A hollow or natural passage under or into the earth, especially one with an opening to the surface." As a verb, in the form of caved or caves, it means "To fall in; collapse.", "To give up all opposition; yield." So, depending on how it's used, the word has opposite meaning. When used together in the same sentence, the difference is really apparent, "The cave caved in." Ha! Someone learning English must really struggle with such sentences.

Perhaps they need to give the cave less confusing name, like "Mammoth Support", "Mammoth Underground Space", or maybe "Mammoth Passageways?"

Soon enough we arrive at Grand Central Station. I mount my camera on the hand railing to steady it. The more steady the camera, the less blurry the picture. This set actually came out fairly well.

Now you see her, now you don't. Where did you go Ernesta?
