Today's ride will be a counterclockwise traverse of San Juan Island with a southerly dogleg to San Juan National Historic Park. Expected total distance is unknown since I'm not using a guided map with specific routing, I'm just going with the flow on this one.
Starting out the island terrain is a mix rolling hills commingled with flatland that's frequently used for farming. Sometimes the farmers even grow giant-sized tater tots.
Not far into my ride I spy this weathered single-wide trailer set back from road in an open field. I find the sign to be a little odd, someone was trying to unload it for free.
The road is generally in good condition with shoulders in most places. My only issue is the traffic. There's quite a lot of it. Like myself, visitors are touring the island, but by car. Fortunately, no close calls yet, thank God.
