A C A D I A N A T I O N A L P A R K
Central Maine Coast
After a bit more riding on an uphill grade I spot Eagle Lake in the distance.
I pullover to enjoy the view. In the process I encounter this persistent seagull who's looking for a handout.
I finally arrive at the foot of Cadillac Summit Road. This road will take me up more than 1,000 feet in a little over 3 miles. That's a fairly steep climb by anyone's measure, but I'm certainly up for the task. With the reward of great views from atop Cadillac Mountain, I start my slow grind up the mountainside.
And what a grind it is.
After some struggling I'm rewarded by a view of Eagle Lake to the east.
Hey! Is that the same seagull begger I saw earlier? Maybe he isn't begging at all, perhaps just enjoying the view like us humans?
