Acadia National Park Central Maine Coast
The ride starts out nice enough, the carriage road proves to be a well-maintained thoroughfare, no ruts or potholes. Hey, wait a minute! Maybe that's a bad thing? Whenever riding my mountain bike I instinctively look for aggravated, disgruntled, and generally irritable terrain. This road throws me for a loop, serving up an unwavering attitude of peace and serenity.
Hmmm, another horsepile, I must be getting close to this calling card's culprit. Yup, there's a horse and carriage on up ahead. Personally I prefer riding a bike over riding in a carriage but I do realize I'm missing out on the carriage driver's narration of the park. Oh well.
On my way to Bubble Pond I witness a number of my fellow biking brothers and sisters enjoying a bit of two-wheeled merriment.
I eventually spy the shoreline of Bubble Pond. I park my bike then walk to water's edge to take in the view. As per a sign nearby the pond water is used for drinking so no swimming is allowed.
Various views of Bubble Pond. Isn't she just bubbling with beauty today?
I make my way to the other end of Bubble Pond.
