Okay, back to work. My next bike maintenance victim is my road bike. Somehow the front rim got bent. I think I may have bent it when I backed into a guardrail back in Maine, ya think?

Sitting atop the bike, I assess the damage. Yikes! This one has got to be replaced. Before I replace the rim, I have a little fun and test ride the bike.

Click on any or all of the images above to watch video taken from my diagnostic test ride.

In the same fashion that I changed the tire on the mountain bike, the same process is used to move the tire from the damaged rim to the new rim of my road bike. After mounting the tire on the new rim, I proceed to clean and lubricate.

There she is. All fixed and ready to hit the road. She's sporting a black rim now, it was used, and only cost me $40, so, black is goooood.

I throw the bikes back on the rack, then cover them up with the tarp. Too bad the tarp doesn't keep out all of the moisture. Oh well, I do the best I can. The black clips help somewhat to keep things buttoned down.
