B O S T O N ,   M A S S A C H U S E T T S

In terms of monumental events that have hit Boston, tonight ranks near the top. Boston hasn't won the American Pennant since 1986. So far, they've managed to comeback from a 0-3 series deficit to tie the series 3-3. No team has ever won a pennant after being in such a deep hole. If the Sox win tonight, and no less against their longtime arch rival, the NY Yankees, they will have made baseball history by completing the biggest comeback in Major League post-season history. And that's a huge thing, considering how fanatical Boston is about their beloved Red Sox.

I quickly need to get to Fenway Park, home of the Red Sox. To get there I take the subway. Operated by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, it's America's first subway system. The trains and associated facilities are both orderly and clean.

I finally arrive at Fenway Park.

My time spent in Boston turns out to be a short one. Having only spent a single day and evening in the city, I walk away from the experience feeling as though I must visit again someday to take in Boston's sights and sounds at a more leisurely pace. But, I'm certainly not complaining, I covered a lot of ground today, thanks to The Freedom Trail and the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority.

In all my touring today, I've grown an appeciation of the importance of actually visiting historic places that, in the past, have only been know to me from what I've read or seen on TV. Thank you Boston for doing such a great job of preserving and promoting your historic treasures. I give my tour of Boston a rating of 5 thumbs-up, a perfect rating!
