Massachusetts State House

The ever present Massachusetts State House is easy to identify by its gold dome. I'm not sure what's more impressive, the brilliant dome or the huge "Go Sox" banner which attests to Boston's craze for America's favorite pastime, baseball. Completed in 1798, the Massachusetts Legistlature still conducts its business within the elegant confines of this historical structure.

Old City Hall

Next to King's Chapel you'll find Boston's Old City Hall. Now a restaurant and first class office building, in its political heyday, Old City Hall saw the comings and goings of 38 Boston Mayors over a period of 128 years.

Old State House

Boston's oldest public building is the Old State House. Built in 1713 and used by Massachusetts colony, county, and town governments, it was a beehive of activity during colonial times. Having the foresight to encourage the public's understanding of the government's inner-workings, a visitor's gallery was added in 1766 to accommodate a public audience while the legistlature was in session.
