Out of Union Station and back the street, I continue along on my tour. I believe this is one of the Senate Office Buildings. I take the time to snap the shots because it's a good representation of Capitol Hill's architecture.

I'm in front of the U.S. Capitol now. As you can see, it's a real mess. Roads are blocked off, barriers are everywhere. The Capitol Visitor Center won't be completed until the fall of 2006.

Located on Capitol Hill, across from the U.S. Capitol Building, the U.S. Supreme Court is my next sightseeing destination. Consisting of a single Chief Justice and eight Associate Justices, the court was created in 1790 in response to a provision within the U.S. Constitution, "...the judicial Power of the United States, shall be vested in one supreme Court, as in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish."

What's this? I see a U.S. Capitol Police officer standing nearby, he looks like he's guarding something.

Oh, I see... There's some sort of public demonstration going on. Strange, why do they have red tape over their mouths? Everyone's tape says "LIFE". Come to find out, they're Pro-life folks who are protesting a woman's right to have an abortion. I'm not sure how best to interpret the red tape or what's written on it, however.
