Hike: #6

Location: In Acadia National Park near Bar Harbor, Maine.

Distance: 7 miles

Elevation Change: 1,384 feet

Tread: Forest path, slick rock, barren mountaintop

Miles/Time/Avg: 7.0/3:00:00/NA

Rating:   (5 max)

Nestled in the middle of Maine's Acadia National Park, Cadillac Mountain is a little more than 1,500 feet tall and more than 3 miles away from my campsite. I'm getting a late start but it's a relatively short, easy hike so I should get back well before nightfall.

The beginning of Cadillac Mountain South Ridge Trail is just outside the campground so I backtrack my way out of the campground on foot.

The fall foliage is all around me as I make my way to the trailhead.
