Acadia National Park

Another trail sign. God, are we at Grand Central Station? My head hurts just looking at all the information it contains and all the directions it's pointing to. During peak hiking season is there congestion in and around this intersection? Do they have to haul up here one of those generator powered traffic signals to help direct hiking traffic?

Wow, this is a first. A sign that actually describes what the rock piles are used for. Must be folks were dismantling them, hence the need for the signage? Perhaps they were just curious if dead animals were hidden within their rocky depths? I can't imagine someone so stupid to think such a thing... er... never mind. It's not nice to judge people.

Looking up I see that more climbing is in store for me. Certainly this has to be the last ascent before I'll see the mountain's peak. Time will tell.

I make my way up and soon I have a good vantage point over the pond, or marsh, or whatever you want to call it. This part of the trail is sheltered from the wind, so as I make my way up I'm actually starting to sweat and overheat.

I pass by some colorful red vegetation.
