Wilmington, New York
I pass by another marker, this one talks about the local alpine flora.
The Park Service added these traction strips to some of the rocks. In pretty quick fashion the stone stairway turns to a regular boulder boulevard.
Another marker, this one talks about the local trees and how their lives are literally shaped by the prevailing winds.
Near the top I discover the last marker, this one talks about a process called "succession."
I finally reach the top. At 4,867 feet I have a grand view of Lake Placid.
