Houston, Texas

While waiting for the tram I fiddle around with my audio equipment then check out the map to the Visitor Center. When I get back from the Tram Tour, I'll spend the balance of my day in the Visitor Center, checking out all the interesting exhibits. Looking at the map, I think I'll have my work cut out for me. There's a lot to see.

Ahhh, there's the tram. I'm supposed to sit in section #6.

And away we go!

As we drive along, the tram operator gives us an overview of the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center. Established in 1961 and originally named the Manned Spacecraft Center, it was renamed to honor late president Lyndon B. Johnson in 1973. Johnson was a native of Texas.

Our first stop is the old Mission Control Center. My goodness, the building's facade looks so 1960s. I'm glad to see they haven't wasted money updating the design. It looks like they have their priorities straight.
