Houston, Texas

We all crowd into the lobby and are greeted with models, pictures, and video of space exploits and history.

Up we go to the second floor and into an auditorium that overlooks the old Mission Control Center.

Between the tour guide and the video, we learn a lot about the history of Mission Control. Very interesting. They teach us the right stuff. Heh, did you get my little Hollywood tie-in there?

This equipment is early 1970s vintage. This particular equipment was on display at the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum in Washington, D.C. for a stint but has since been brought back. The red phone was a direct line to the President of the United States. The Mission Control Center moved to another location within the space complex in 1998.

On the way down the stairwell to the first floor, I notice these large photos plastered across the wall space.
