I usually find most museums rather boring, somewhat analogous to watching paint dry on the wall. So, the challenge put before me was to find interesting museums during my travels. I figured it's a big country, there must to be tons of cool museums out there, right?

Fortunately, I struck gold and did visit a few great museums. Typically, I would spend a good portion of my day pouring over all the museum had to offer. I like to be thorough, especially since I'm trying to capture the experience on my website. Unfortunately, at times, my museum touring was conducted at breakneck speed, primarily due to the overwhelming size of the facility (ie, The Smithsonian in DC). So many things to see, so little time to see them.

Digital cameras effectively combat this dilemma. One of the many wonderful things about digital cameras is you can use them to record your museum experience, and at a later date and time, replay back the pictures to catch-up on all the reading you didn't have time for. Additionally, it's great for my website, I can capture a image of a museum placard and just post the picture, no writing on my part is necessary. This all assumes the image is ledgeable however, since indoor picture taking usually lacks sufficient natural light and using a flash doesn't work if the placard is encased in glass (reflection back of the flash).

Now, without futher delay, here is my list of museum favorites.
