I notice there's a lot of dead debris intermixed with the live flora.
I pass by rocks, rocks, and more rocks as I continue my ascent.
A nice view to the northwest.
I see a rock mound marker (called a cairn) in the distance. It's used to indicate where the trail is. This trail marking method is utilized because there are no trees or soil up here to hold a trail sign.
More up and up, some of it requires me to break out some of my bouldering skills.
