Some hazy views of my surroundings on the way up.

As you can see, the visibility at the top of Little Whiteface Peak really sucks! Standing on the observation deck I can barely see Lake Placid. Well, at least it's not raining.

I'm now atop the mountain and ready to ride. Here's my launching point, a trail called Excelsior Extreme. The idea is to go down the mountainside as fast as I can without wiping out. This'll be no easy feat considering I'm not only new to mountain biking but also new to biking down a mountainside.

Looking up I can see the peak of Whiteface Mountain. Notice the wide ski run as it snakes its way down the mountainside.
