Upstate New York

I finally reach the top of the mountain! At the top I take this 360-degree panoramic. It's broken up into 3 panel sets.

Here's the same panorama all stitched together. The panorama is a bit compressed, however. It's funny, in order to get the panorama picture to size correctly on this page I had to stretch it vertically. The resulting stretch makes the Adirondacks look like the tall, rugged Himalayan Mountains. Click on it to see it scaled correctly.

Me atop Mount Marcy. The weather is really quite nice, not very windy and the sun keeps me toasty warm.

I spend about 30 minutes at the peak then head back down. The return hike is uneventful but one of my knees starts to give me problems. So much so, near the end of the hike I am forced to limp. But that's okay, the hike is well worth the minor temporary disability.

After reaching the van I drive back to the campground and settle in for the night. Tomorrow will be a day of rest for me because of my knee injury. No rigorous activity allowed. Hopefully it'll get better soon.
