Memphis, Tennessee

Representing one of Elvis' crowning personal achievements, he receives the US Jaycees award as "One of the Ten Outstanding Young Men of the Nation" in 1970. He was so touched by the award that the award itself became well worn because Elvis always carried it wherever he toured.

Over the years, Elvis fans have gifted their art to Elvis and then to his estate. Here are a few examples.

Having just stepped out of the Trophy Building, I find myself face to face with the pool. Like every mansion, you've got to have a pool. This one is kidney shaped.

Elvis' racquetball court has been converted to an exhibit space. The Racquetball Building holds more Elvis stuff, including awards and a number of his famous jumpsuits.

Here's the lounge section of the building. It is said that at this piano Elvis sang his last song, one day before his untimely death in 1977.
