Facing the front door is the stairway to the second floor. Hmmm, I see there's a curtain covering access to the second story. My audio recorder tells all. The curtain is there because Elvis never, ever let company upstairs. In respect of his privacy, even in death, tour folks are not allowed up there.

Rumor has it, only 3 people are allowed up there. The entire upstairs has been "locked-down" since Elvis' death in 1977. Supposedly nothing has been moved or touched. The three people allowed upstairs are Priscilla, Lisa-Marie, and Graceland's Curator.

Until now! I'm going to crash through the barrier, run up the steps, a hidden security guard is going to jump me (supposedly there's one up there on the landing in a non-sacred area), a struggle will ensue, re-enforcements will be called in, I'll be cuffed, then dragged to the police station!

Ummm, I think I've just changed my mind. Lets just continue on with the tour, shall we?

Across from the living room is the dining room.

In the dining room I discover this picture of Priscilla Beaulieu Presley with 2-year-old daughter Lisa Marie. Elvis met 14-year-old Priscilla in West Germany when he was serving two years in the US Army from 1958-1960. She eventually moved to Memphis in 1962 and slowly moved in with Elvis at Graceland. Married in 1967, the couple quickly produced their only offspring, Lisa Marie, 9 months later. Elvis and Priscilla separated in 1972 and divorced in 1973. Both parents shared custody of Lisa Marie, splitting her home between Graceland and Los Angeles.

Elvis was... how shall I say... Elvis. Given all the opportunities he had with beautiful women, it's been said "his list of one night stands could fill volumes." Due to all his philandering, his long-term relationships suffered greatly. As time passed, he entered into a pattern of leaving older women for younger ones. At the time of his death at 42, he was in a relationship with an 18 year-old woman who was living at Graceland.
